"The Traveling Chasidim," a group of talented Belzer Chasidim will be in Chattanooga for a Kiruv Project at the Beth Sholom Synagogue, offering their Chasidic warmth and spirit, especially inspired by their spirited musical band they have organized. There will be more than a minyan of Shomer Torah Yidden in town and the shul has a mikveh as well. Another plus is the fact that a respectable motel is located immediately next to the shul that offers a special cheap rate to synagogue users of but $44.95 a night for a family with up to three children. Chattanooga has many clean and wholesome attractions too numerous to mention here, but include famous Lookout Mountain and the Tennessee State Aquarium. Discover U Shabbaton Oorah, an outreach organization based in Lakewood, is hosting a Shabbaton this coming Shabbos, parshas Eikev (July 30-31), in Gilboa, NY. They have brought in Rebbetzin Nechama Karlinsky (senior leccturer at Eyaht, Aish HaTorah's college for women in Jerusalem) as the featured speaker. Rebbetzin Karlinsky is staying in Brooklyn and needs a ride to the Shabbaton (leaving on Friday around noon) and returning to Brooklyn motzaei Shabbos following a Melava Malka. The driver will enjoy full participation at the Shabbaton, including air-conditioned accommodations, gourmet Shabbos meals under the supervision of Rav Chaim Mintz, and use of Oorah's new resort facility GirlZone.
