Bramson ORT College is pleased to announce a new online course: CADD with Biblical Architecture, learning CADD, the universal language of design, construction, and manufacturing, by drawing the Mishkan (Tabernacle [Exodus 25]). Available at the Bramson ORT Distance Learning Web site starting February 1, 2010, this online version of the 3-credit semester course CP270-CADD (Computer-Aided Drafting and Design) can lead to employment as an entry-level drafter in architectural or engineering offices. Combined with 3-credit semester courses CP271-Advanced CADD and CP272-CADD Applications, it will become a complete CADD sequence appropriate for regular drafting positions in architectural or engineering firms, or toward baccalaureate degrees in the various disciplines of engineering or architecture. Manual drafters can upgrade to CADD with this course. Unique about this course is the opportunity it offers to perform a Mitzvah (good deed) while learning an occupation. According to our Sages, drawing the Mishkan, rather than just studying the texts, is a higher level fulfillment of the commandment AND THEY SHALL MAKE ME A SANCTUARY [Exodus 25,8].
