Thinking about staying at Korman Communities (corp. housing) on Passaic? You should know that there are motion sensors in the rooms! We are staying here right now, and their response to my questions was: The heat/AC is programmed to turn off after 30 hours of no movement in the apt. We returned to a warm apt. when we stayed elsewhere (best solution anyhow) and took in Shabbos early. Mgmt. is OK with taping paper over the sensors for Shabbos. Urgent - need info re: assisted living in NJ My parents are in poor health and live in another state. They need to move to assisted living or something like it. Im having difficulty finding out about NJ assisted living, good places, regs. Can't be a place with only Orthodox. I'm Frum but parent's aren't and might not feel socially accepted. I'm looking near Passaic or another Frum community. I'm also trying to find out the difference between NY and NJ. Was told NY is behind and if their health deteriorates they'll be asked to leave and go to a nursing home. I'm also told NJ may be more cost effective and provide better care for in place aging.
